The Commander of the Presidential Guards Brigade, Brigadier-General Adebisi Onasanya, has assured Nigerians that the military will not allow extremist groups to destabilize the country. He gave the assurance while receiving the Commander-General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, James Udoma, in Bauchi. The Chief of Army Staff ordered troops to sustain pressure on criminals and bolster peace efforts in Plateau State. In separate incidents, troops crushed Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi, seizing a heavy machine gun and motorcycles, while fresh attacks left 13 dead in Plateau. Additionally, the police stated that there was no terrorist attack at Asaba airport, clarifying that the Office of the National Security Adviser was conducting a simulation.
