The federal government has replaced a planned ban on raw cashew exports with an industry roadmap. Growers aim to produce one million tonnes, while processors seek restrictions on foreign buyers' direct access to farm-gate supplies. The National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN) supports the roadmap as a sustainable alternative to an export ban, arguing it can achieve greater value addition by supporting both farmers and processors. NCAN president Ademola Adesokan said the industry is encouraged by the government's approach.
