The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) recorded 297,943 human rights complaints across Nigeria in August 2026. Executive Secretary Dr Tony Ojukwu presented the August 2026 Human Rights Dashboard, highlighting insecurity, hate speech, and political violence as major threats. He identified insecurity as the dominant concern, particularly in Benue and Niger states, and called for thorough investigations.
