‘Tinubu backed Buhari, North must reciprocate’ — Yari

Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, called on northern Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. He made the appeal on Monday while leading PCC members to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu. Yari said Tinubu had resisted pressure to contest the 2019 presidential election when former President Muhammadu Buhari sought a second term, allowing the North to complete its full term. He argued that this gesture created an obligation for northern political stakeholders to reciprocate by backing Tinubu's second-term bid.
