Domestic airlines delayed over 4,000 flights, cancel 36 others in August

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) reported that domestic airlines delayed 4,765 flights and cancelled 36 others in August 2026. The regulator disclosed this on Sunday via its official X handle while releasing its summary of domestic airline flight operations for the month. According to the NCAA, 15 carriers operated 7,961 flights during the period, with 59.9 per cent of operations affected by delays. Air Peace operated the highest number of flights at 1,864, recording 1,330 delays, representing 71.4 per cent of its total operations. Additionally, the NCAA sanctioned RwandAir N15 million over a consumer protection violation involving a passenger's damaged baggage.
