Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has rejected claims that his administration left outstanding debts for the Anambra State Government. Obi said he settled all obligations due before handing over power in 2014. He made the clarification in a video from the Voice of Ndi Anambra Podcast, responding to Anambra's Commissioner for Finance, Izuchukwu Okafor, who said the state is still servicing loans from Obi's and Willie Obiano's administrations. Obi governed Anambra from 2006 to 2014 and insisted his administration did not leave unpaid salaries, pensions, gratuities, or contractor claims.
