Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, has stated that the Initial Public Offering of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE will democratise wealth creation by allowing Nigerians and global investors to own shares in one of Africa's major industrial projects. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo remarked that South Africa would not have ended apartheid when it did without Nigeria's support for the struggle against white minority rule. Additionally, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the current pump price of petrol, noting that Nigerians are paying as much as ₦1,470 per litre even though crude oil, at $102.52 per barrel, sells for far less than the $147 per barrel it fetched in 2008 when petrol sold for ₦65 per litre.
