2027: North has no reason not to support Tinubu – Yari

Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, says the northern region has no reason not to support President Bola Tinubu's bid for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Yari spoke in Lagos when he led members of the PCC to the palace of Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos, as part of the council's engagements ahead of the 2027 elections. The former Zamfara governor said the north should reciprocate the support Tinubu gave former President Muhammadu Buhari during his presidential bid and subsequent re-election. According to Yari, Tinubu had resisted pressure to contest the 2019 presidential election against Buhari, arguing that it was the turn of the north to produce the president.
