Survey shows strong perception of transparency in CBN activities

The Central Bank of Nigeria's Inflation Expectations Survey Report for August 2026 has shown strong public engagement with the apex bank's activities, communications and monetary policy decisions. According to the report, 93.7 percent of respondents said they engage with CBN communications, indicating a high level of public interest in the central bank's policies and announcements. The survey also revealed a strong perception of transparency, with 92.9 percent of respondents expressing the view that the CBN is transparent in its activities and communication. Interest rate policy emerged as one of the major concerns among respondents, with the report showing that 60.9 percent of participants expressed a preference for a reduction in interest rates.
