Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, stated during an Arise TV interview on Tuesday that petrol priced at N1,350 per litre in Nigeria remains cheaper than in neighbouring countries. He noted that petrol in those countries is 30 to 50 per cent more expensive, which encourages cross-border smuggling. Using Niger as an example, he said the product costs 20 to 25 per cent more there. Dangote made these remarks while discussing the relative cost of petrol.
