Liberia: Ministry Strengthens School Readiness and Accountability Ahead of 2026/2027 Reopening

Liberia's Minister of Education, Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah, convened education leaders from the country's 16 educational counties, including 125 District Education Officers, to prepare for the reopening of schools for the 2026/2027 academic year. The meeting, held at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, brought together the Ministry's Senior Management Team, County Education Officers, and other stakeholders to review school readiness and reinforce expectations for supervision, accountability, and compliance. Discussions focused on teacher availability, student enrollment and attendance, school infrastructure, learning materials, school monitoring, and adherence to policies. Minister Jallah called on education officers to intensify monitoring and ensure evidence-based interventions.
