President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Advocate Adrian Carl Mopp as the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for the Western Cape Division, effective from 10 September 2026. The appointment was made in terms of section 13(1)(a) of the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 1998, after consultation with the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development and the National Director of Public Prosecutions. Advocate Mopp has over 30 years of legal and prosecutorial experience, including more than 23 years in the NPA's Senior Management Service. He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 1993.
