The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency announced on Tuesday that its operatives dismantled an industrial-scale methamphetamine laboratory and arrested a Mexican drug kingpin attempting to flee through Lagos airport. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) said the operation followed months of investigation into a wider criminal network behind clandestine drug laboratories uncovered this year. Marwa, represented by Director of Media and Advocacy Femi Babafemi, noted that operatives had earlier arrested three Mexican nationals. The agency stated the breakthrough exposes transnational cartels' attempts to infiltrate Nigeria's forests and rural communities.
