Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike questioned why Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum, could not garner massive support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election. Wike said his task ahead of 2027 is to mobilise support for Tinubu's re-election, not to intervene in state politics. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said the Rainbow Coalition is not affiliated with the APC and described it as a platform for other parties supporting the President's re-election. He added that he would not help people win elections.
