Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in 2027 but stated that this does not mean the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not field candidates in other elections. In a statement by his aide Lere Olayinka, Wike clarified that the 'rainbow coalition' backing Tinubu is not connected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and comprises members from various parties satisfied with the President's performance. He emphasized that the PDP will still contest governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly elections.
