A Kano Sharia Court has ordered the state's correctional authorities to provide special care for Yusuf Mahmud Rano, who allegedly cut off his finger after being promised N80 million to produce it. The court, sitting in Jogana, issued the order during proceedings involving Yusuf and four others accused of conspiracy and attempted sorcery. Judge Malam Kamalu Haruna said judgment could not be delivered as scheduled on Monday because government lawyers were expected to participate. He adjourned the case to Thursday, September 17, 2026, and ordered that the first to fourth defendants remain in custody until then, while reiterating that Yusuf should receive adequate medical attention.
