Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has given consent for the release of his academic records following reports of a legal action seeking certified copies of his educational credentials. In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, Obi said he had no objection to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), releasing his academic certificates, records, and other official documents relating to his admission and studies, subject to applicable laws. He said the same consent applied to other educational institutions he attended within and outside Nigeria, provided the release was carried out in accordance with relevant laws and procedures. The statement followed reports circulating on social media about a legal action seeking certified true copies of Obi's Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and other academic records connected to his admission into UNN.
