The Federal Government has commenced direct distribution of relief materials to victims of gully erosion and windstorms in Ohafia and Umuahia South Local Government Areas of Abia State. The exercise, conducted through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with the Abia State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), provided food and non-food items. The Acting Head of Operations, NEMA Imo/Abia, Mr Innocent Nweze, said the relief was approved by the President to cushion the victims' losses.
