N1.5m ransom recovered as police, Amotekun foil kidnappers in Ondo forest shootout

Police detectives in Ondo State, in collaboration with the Ondo State Security Network (Amotekun) and Agbe-Koya, carried out a coordinated rescue and ambush operation in Isua-Akoko forest. Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives positioned themselves along a suspected route after learning that suspected kidnappers in the forest along the Ifira-Idoani axis planned to emerge and collect ransom. During a shootout, two abducted victims were rescued, three suspects were arrested, and N1.5 million in ransom proceeds and foodstuffs were recovered.
