The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that six political parties will participate in Saturday's Kano State House of Assembly by-election in Dawakin Kudu Constituency. INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kano, Abdu Zango, confirmed this on Tuesday after an Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security meeting at the Kano State Police Command headquarters. Zango said the commission would deploy 1,500 ad hoc staff across 303 polling units, with non-sensitive materials already distributed and sensitive materials expected on Wednesday. He assured that the election would be free, fair, credible and peaceful, citing a previous successful election in the area.
