The Action Peoples Party (APP) has received a boost ahead of the 2027 general elections with the defection of two members of the House of Representatives and a former federal lawmaker. The three lawmakers have joined the APP and emerged as the party's candidates for the 2027 House of Representatives elections in their respective constituencies in Imo, Abia, and Rivers States. The lawmakers include Rt. Hon. Boma Goodhead, representing Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency of Rivers State, and Hon. Alozie Munachim Ikechi, representing Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Osisioma Federal Constituency of Abia State. Both have joined the APP and will contest the 2027 elections on the party's platform.
