Singapore has launched a five-year national campaign to encourage reading among citizens by offering small cash rewards for logging reading time on a government platform. The initiative, by the National Library Board, aims to promote long-form reading amid declining attention spans. Participants earn virtual coins for reading sessions of at least 15 minutes, with 1,000 coins convertible to SG$1, requiring 50 sessions for that amount. Only one session can be logged daily.
