Airline operators have disputed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority's August 2026 flight disruption data, which reported over 60 per cent domestic delays. They attributed delays and cancellations to airport congestion, inadequate infrastructure, and bad weather, factors beyond their control. The operators made their case during the Aviation Day at the 23rd Akwaaba African Travel Market in Lagos, arguing that the NCAA data failed to distinguish between airline-caused and external delays.
