Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticized President Bola Tinubu's economic policies, stating that a $1 trillion economy cannot be built by impoverishing Nigerians. In a statement by his aide Phrank Shaibu, Atiku accused the government of exporting raw materials while Nigerians face higher prices, weaker purchasing power, and struggling factories. He noted that manufacturers hold unsold goods worth trillions of naira as families cut meals. Atiku described this as a paradox where export surpluses are celebrated while citizens' pockets remain empty.
