The Ugandan government will commence implementation of the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project Phase II (DRDIP II) in October 2026. The $328 million programme targets three million refugees and host community members over five years in 14 refugee-hosting districts. Minister for Disaster Preparedness and Refugees Hon. Sam Engola announced this before the Committee on Presidential Affairs, stating that DRDIP II will support investments in social and economic services, infrastructure, livelihoods, environmental management, and community resilience. Engola appealed to Members of Parliament to support implementation through oversight, advocacy, and community mobilisation.
