Liberia has begun preparations to host the 2027 African Federation for Teaching Regulatory Authorities (AFTRA) Conference, following the inaugural meeting of the national Steering Committee. The meeting, convened by the Ministry of Education, brought together representatives from various government ministries and agencies. Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah highlighted Liberia's push toward teacher certification and licensing, noting that the country can learn from other African nations with established regulatory systems. The conference is seen as important for strengthening the teaching profession in Liberia.
