Senegal Advances Its National Energy Efficiency Strategy with African Energy Commission (AFREC) Support

Senegal has developed a new National Energy Efficiency Strategy and Action Plan (NEESAP) with support from the African Energy Commission (AFREC) and technical assistance from the EU-funded Continental Energy Programme in Africa (CEPA). The country also introduced Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) Guidelines and Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) adapted to its context. The Agency for Energy Economy and Management (AEME) presented the results to around 60 representatives from government, private sector, financial institutions, and development partners in Dakar on 10 September. Stakeholders reviewed the proposals and provided recommendations to align them with Senegal's national priorities.
