The federal government has expanded the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy to Oyo, Enugu and Kebbi states as part of efforts to equip Nigerian youths with practical skills and create entrepreneurship opportunities. The programme is implemented by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education and aims to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty within 10 years through economic growth and targeted social protection. Dr Abiola Arogundade, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, said the initiative is a central pillar of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. She said the administration views Nigerian youths as the solution to the country's challenges rather than as a problem, and the programme began with a pilot in Abuja on June 30, 2025.
