Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Bank Holdings, stated that the Niger Delta oil-producing states and their local governments have received an estimated $160 billion in federal allocations and other development resources over the past 27 years. He made this disclosure during a keynote address at the 2026 Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit in Port Harcourt. Aig-Imoukhuede noted that the figure includes about $140 billion in federal allocations since 1999, plus resources channelled through the NDDC. He added that there are no consolidated public accounts showing how the resources have been utilised.
