American artist Tschabalala Self has unveiled a monumental bronze sculpture titled Lady in Blue on the Fourth Plinth in London's Trafalgar Square. The more than five-metre-tall work depicts a Black woman in a striking blue outfit, caught mid-stride, with its colour inspired by lapis lazuli. Self said the figure represents an everyday person rather than a famous individual or historical personality. The sculpture was unveiled on Thursday, September 10, on one of the UK's most prominent platforms for contemporary public art.
