Civil society groups have called on Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu to order a comprehensive investigation into recent killings and alleged political violence in Osun State. The groups, including the League of Peace Ambassadors, Humanity and Human Rights Advocates, and the Nigeria Peace and Security Advancement Network, made the call on Tuesday at a joint press conference in Abuja. The call follows the killing of Olalekan Dauda Oyeyemi, known as Emir Ajagungbade, in Ile-Ife. They urged the police to probe the wider networks behind political violence, including financiers and organizers, and to review unresolved killings in the state.
