Athletics Federation of Nigeria President Tonobok Okowa praised Team Nigeria's performance at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, Hungary. Nigeria's youthful contingent reached the final in four of the five events they competed in, despite challenges before their participation. Tobi Amusan claimed silver in the women's 100m hurdles, while Kanyinsola Ajayi placed fourth in the men's 100m. Okowa said the results reinforced his confidence in the next generation of Nigerian athletes and would aid preparations for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in China.
