State governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have expressed strong opposition to the creation of parallel political structures by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, which they believe could undermine President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. The governors, under the Progressive Governors Forum led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, issued the warning after a closed-door meeting at the Imo State Governor's Lodge in Abuja. The development follows Wike's recent accusation that Uzodimma sponsored political attacks against him. The APC governors warned against parallel structures amid mounting friction within the party over Wike's Rainbow Coalition.
