The Minister of Power, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to assist in combating vandalism and energy theft in the power sector. During a courtesy visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, Tegbe highlighted that these activities result in annual losses of billions of naira. He noted that the ministry lacks the statutory authority to prosecute offenders, making EFCC collaboration essential. The EFCC has been asked to support investigations and prosecutions related to these crimes.
