A coalition of former governors, serving and former senators, and prominent political leaders from Northern Nigeria has concluded plans to unveil a political mobilization platform named 'Arewa for Asiwaju' (A4A) ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The group will be led by a 14-member Board of Trustees (BOT) with grassroots networks across the North-West, North-East, and North-Central. The BOT is chaired by former Kano State Governor and ex-Education Minister, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, with former Yobe State governor and current Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, and former Plateau State governor and Senator representing Plateau South, Simon Lalong, as deputies. Other members include Ibrahim Masari, Senator Joshua Dariye, Brig-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), and Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
