Troops of the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Lokoja have arrested two persons allegedly transporting mining equipment for illegal mining activities in Kogi State. The vehicle conveying the equipment was intercepted between Girinya in Kogi Local Government Area and Agbaja in Lokoja Local Government Area. The State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), said the interception and arrests followed credible intelligence. He said security agencies had been directed to sustain the crackdown on criminal activities, adding that the state government would continue to strengthen collaboration with the military and other security agencies.
