Nigeria's headline inflation rate fell to 15.39 percent in August 2026 from 15.43 percent in July, marking the third consecutive monthly decline. The National Bureau of Statistics attributed the drop to a further ease in the core basket, which decreased to 13.29 percent from 14.97 percent. On a month-on-month basis, inflation was 0.71 percent in August.
