The BTO for PBAT '27 movement, a political group supporting President Bola Tinubu's second-term bid, has stated that a proposed alliance between former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party's Peter Obi would not be sufficient to defeat President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. In a statement signed by its Director-General, Adesuyi Adojutelegan, the group argued that combining opposition support bases does not automatically translate to electoral victory. It noted that voter loyalty and political structures cannot simply be transferred through alliances of political leaders. The group added that Nigeria's political history shows coalitions formed primarily for electoral purposes often face challenges from competing ambitions and regional considerations.
