We’re Paid To Serve, Not To Exploit, Bauchi CP Warns Officers

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has declared that police officers are paid to serve Nigerians and not to exploit them. He spoke after a statewide familiarisation and operational tour of area commands, urging personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline and respect for citizens' rights. The commissioner concluded the tour with a visit to the Metro Area Command in Bauchi metropolis, where he was received by the area commander, the chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, Divisional Police Officers and other community stakeholders. He reiterated the inspector-general of police's directive that policing must be professional, people-oriented and respectful of human rights, and warned officers against extortion and prolonged detention of suspects.
