Army Dismisses Alleged Terrorists’ Plan To Attack Worship, Learning Institutions Nationwide

The Nigerian Army has described as fake news reports indicating that Boko Haram terrorists are planning to launch attacks on institutions of learning and places of worship across the country. Army spokesperson Col. Appolonia Anele described the document as fake and intended to cause tension, saying it did not originate from the Army and amounted to speculation. She assured that the Nigerian Army had heightened alertness and directed commands to ensure no successful attacks on any facilities. An officer attached to 2 Division Nigerian Army said an unverified memo had alerted units and formations nationwide to heighten surveillance and preparedness to avert mass abductions.
