The Ondo State government has threatened to arrest and prosecute violators of its traffic laws, saying it is strengthening enforcement in Akure. The special adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Transportation, Muyiwa Ogunyemi, disclosed this to journalists in Akure, stating that the government intends to tackle illegal use of bus stops, roadside trading and other activities obstructing the free flow of traffic in the state capital. He said some residents had taken over designated bus stops for commercial activities while portions of roads had been converted into workshops, warning that such practices would no longer be tolerated. Ogunyemi also announced restrictions as part of the enforcement drive.
