The Federal Government will conduct a peer review of regional development commissions and submit its findings to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, announced this on Monday at the first North Central Stakeholders Development Summit in Abuja. He stated that the review would assess whether the commissions have fulfilled their establishment purposes. Momoh emphasized that the commissions are government establishments and must operate within government policies, rules, and regulations, not as independent entities. Underperforming commissions were directed to improve.
