A former Caretaker Chairman of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, Babajide Jooda, has filed a fundamental human rights suit against the Inspector-General of Police and a former Force Public Relations Officer. The suit, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeks N500 million in damages over his alleged declaration as a wanted person based on a purportedly forged court order. Other respondents include the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Police Service Commission, the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Intelligence Response Team, Abuja, a former Chief Magistrate of Karu, the Registrar of the Chief Magistrate's Court, Karu, and 11 police officers. Jooda alleges that the arrest warrant and newspaper advertisements issued in February 2026 identified him as wanted.
