SDP’s Adebayo: Nigerians Will Buy Fuel at N5k per Liter if Tinubu Wins 2nd Term

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has warned that the price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) could rise to N5,000 per liter if President Bola Tinubu secures a second term in office. In a press release issued by his Presidential Campaign's Chief Communications Adviser, Comrade Mark Adebayo, he stated that the current administration's economic policies, specifically the full deregulation of the petroleum downstream sector and the continuous floating of the Naira, have set Nigeria's economy on a hyper-inflationary path. He argued that without a radical policy shift, a second term under the current framework will inevitably push fuel prices to unprecedented heights. Adebayo predicated his warning on the currency devaluation loop, noting that petrol is imported and priced in US dollars.
