No harm occurred, but the incident highlights growing unease among AI developers. This month, researcher Jacob Coxon resigned from Anthropic, warning that industry insiders fear AI could eventually kill humanity, while his colleague Evan Hubinger estimated a more than 10 percent chance of AI causing human extinction within the next decade. OpenAI has also faced departures, including safety systems chief Johannes Heidecke and longtime researcher Josh.
