Gender gap in agriculture costs Nigeria $2.3bn annually — FAO

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations has stated that the gender gap in agricultural productivity costs Nigeria an estimated $2.3 billion annually. This amount is equivalent to about two per cent of the country's Gross Domestic Product. The FAO noted that the loss highlights the urgent need for increased investment in women farmers.
