The statement expressed gratitude for a life well lived and announced the passing of Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, describing him as a dear husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Born on November 4, 1942, and passing on September 16, 2026, Jacobs was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in England and began his career starring in British television series and international films. He later relocated to Nigeria, where he became a foundational figure in Nollywood, often described as one of its godfathers alongside Pete Edochie, and is survived by his wife, actress Joke Silva.
