Nollywood veteran, Olu Jacobs, is dead

Nollywood veteran actor Olu Jacobs has died, according to an announcement by his son, Olusoji Jacobs, on Instagram. The statement expressed gratitude for a life well lived and referred to him as 'The Lion of Lufodo.' Jacobs, whose full name was Oludotun Baiyewun Jacobs (MFR), was born on July 11, 1942, and died on September 16, 2026. He began his career in British television series and international films, and was born to parents from Egba Alake in Ogun State, spending his early childhood in Kano. He trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in England.
