The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Mexican methamphetamine kingpin Arturo Carrera Loaiza at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while he attempted to flee the country. NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd) disclosed this during a media briefing in Lagos. The agency also dismantled an industrial-scale methamphetamine laboratory in Ebonyi State. The operation followed months of intelligence gathering into an international drug cartel operating secret laboratories in Ogun, Oyo, and Ebonyi states.
