Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has mourned the death of veteran actor Olu Jacobs, describing him as a cultural icon and institution. In a condolence message on social media, Atiku said Jacobs' influence extended beyond his performances and called him one of Nigeria's finest ambassadors of the creative spirit. Jacobs died at 84 on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as announced by his son, Olusoji Jacobs. Atiku recalled Jacobs' enduring legacy.
